My biggest issue with racing and sports games today is that you often cannot listen to the music you want while playing games. While the amp brings numerous benefits to the table – including making your headset even better than if plugged directly into the controller – the biggest feature that I want to talk about here is the ability to loop music through the amp and into your headset, from your phone or tablet via Bluetooth. ![]() When plugged into the Xbox One – or PS4 as you can buy a standalone Amp for each console – the lengthy cord allows you to place the amp within reach of your gaming position, and give you even more control over your audio experience. Ironically, the best part about this package isn’t the headset itself, but the amp that comes packaged with it. I’m here to tell those people they are wrong. Some people say headsets cannot add to the experience of a game. All things I never would have heard using cheaper headsets or even the audio from my television.Įven the footprints, knocked over garbage pails, and the sounds of streams and animals were much more noticeable when using the Elite Pro 2. You could here the murmer of those walking around you, off comments about your appearance, and much more. In Spider-Man and Red Dead Redemption, having the fine tuned audio experience meant towns became more alive, and in the case of New York City, the city became more alive. We used the headset significantly while doing reviews of Spider-Man on the PS4 and Red Dead Redemption 2 on the Xbox One, as well as Forza Horizon 4 and NHL 19. Whether using the headset to listen to audio, watch Netflix, or ultimately play games, there is little to complain about here. That carries over to the Elite Pro 2, with fantastically detailed highs and lows that don’t get muddled, and mids that are the picture of perfection. Ultimately, the look doesn’t matter if the sound isn’t right, and Turtle Beach has a history of making the audio experience on that players won’t soon forget. The side plastic covers of the headset can come off and be swapped out for other colours, which is minor but still something to consider for those that enjoy some versatility with their products. The build quality is top notch as well, with hard plastic on the outside, an aluminium bar along the top that gives the headset some form and holds the shape well when put away and not in use. ![]() For long hours of gaming, this is an excellent headset to invest in. Beautifully cushioned ear cups made the device fit on my head like a hat, and the bar across the top meant to relieve the tension on your head did a phenomenal job. We reviewed the white model, and it had everything you would expect in an expensive gaming headset. The headset itself is very classy looking. While I originally wasn’t sure why I’d want to hook my headset into and amp, which was then hooked into the Xbox One, I quickly realized how amazing this setup is. Enter Turtle Beach’s latest high quality, high priced headset: the Elite Pro 2 + SuperAmp. We review a ton of headsets on, and generally they are all doing things well, providing the features you would expect in a specific price range, and ultimately realizing that purchasing power comes down to brand loyalty, and at times, even things as trivial as colour schemes.
